Quadratic Equations

Did you know that every time you throw a ball, its path is controlled by a secret mathematical curve? That curve is shaped by a quadratic equation, a power-packed math tool that describes the physical world.

At its heart, a quadratic equation is any equation where the highest power of x is two. Here is its standard form, where a, b, and c are just regular numbers, but a can never be zero.

If we graph this equation, we get a beautiful, symmetrical curve called a parabola. The points where the curve crosses the horizontal axis are the solutions, also known as the roots.
